Type Design

Edward Sans is a sans-serif typeface
I designed. It is humanistic in its
approach: you can see a calligraphic
influence (double story a and
binocular g). The typeface is inspired
by Edward Johnston and Eric Gill,
especially because Johnston Sans just
turned a 100 years old (developed in
1916). It was my aim to show different
characteristics of their typeface,
to interpret them and transform them
into a new appearance. Edward
Sans is versatilely
applicable and offers
a good legibility through its forms
and proportions.
